Lyngsoe Systems gains major order from McDonald's

The Northern Jutland based software manufacturer has gained a DKK 30 mn order from McDonald's to supply a food traceability system

Lyngsoe Systems, a Danish software manufacturer based in Northern Jutland has gained a DKK 30 mn (USD 5.4 mn) order from burger chain McDonald's to supply a food traceability system. McDonald's has 3500 restaurants in Europe and gets its ingredients from a vast number of manufacturers and via 29 distribution centres. The system, Catellae, is based on bar codes and gives detailed and reliable information on where food is located in McDonald's supply chain.

From 2005, new EU rules come into force which require that food can be traced back through the distribution, processing and production chain which gives Lyngsoe Systems great expectations of its Catellae system. The news is reported by Erhvervsbladet.

Lyngsoe Systems is a leading software manufacturer and systems integrator for a wide range of logistics solutions based on automatic identification equipment. In addition to its food traceability system, the company has also developed traceability systems for airports and postal services.
