Industry observers forecast major investments in fledgling Danish medico companies in the coming years

Medico industry market observers are expecting major investments in Danish medico companies in the coming years, writes financial newspaper Børsen. Morten Bro Nielsen, investment director for life science at Finnish venture company CapMan in Denmark, sees great potential in a large number of relatively new Danish medico companies that develop, produce and sell medical equipment.

Morten Bro Nielsen says there is a clear trend among large international venture funds that they have become aware of the healthy growth prospects of newly established medico companies in Scandinavia, including Denmark. CapMan is currently looking at several Danish companies with a view to investment.

Ditte Nørgaard-Andersen, director of Medicoindustrien, a trade organisation for the medical device industry in Denmark, sees a strong growth in the industry. She says that biotech and pharmaceutical companies were previously the primary focus for investments, but now investors are increasingly looking at opportunites in the medico industry.
