The Danish Technological Institute, the University of Southern Denmark and three companies have formed a consortium to develop advanced protein analyses

The Danish Technological Institute (DI), the University of Southern Denmark together with 7TM Pharma, TopoTarget and Danisco have formed a consortium to develop advanced protein analyses. The new consortium, Biological Interaction Analysis, has a budget of DKK 40 mn (USD 6.8 mn) for the next three years, of which DKK 14 mn (USD 2.4 mn) has been awarded by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Anne Marie Hansen, chemical engineer at DI in Kolding, Jutland, says the application of the protein analyses can lead to faster and cheaper development of drugs and food ingredients. The parties involved will develop a range of analyses which can be used to identify and quantify certain proteins. DI will then carry out analyses according to requests from the industry. The news is reported by professional journal Ingeniøren (the Engineer).
