New funding to Speakanet for European expansion

The Copenhagen based software house has received DKK 15 mn from the Finnish venture company Eqvitec Partners for European expansion

The Copenhagen based software house Speakanet has received DKK 15 million (USD 2.5 mn) in funding from the Finnish venture company Eqvitec Partners. Spekanet also gained a 15 mn (USD 2.5 mn) sum in June this year from Northzone Ventures. The company develops software based mobile phone switchboard solutions. The mobile phone switchboard enables enterprises to base all their telephony on mobile phones without losing functionalities known from traditional fixed line PBXs (Private Branch Exchange).

Arne Winther, managing director of Speakanet says demands for the company's product are strong, and the investment will be used for expanding in Europe and to further develop the product.

Jari Mieskonen, partner in Eqvitec says that Speakanet is a perfect match for the company's Nordic investment focus. Eqvitec has been looking for the right kind of opportunity in Denmark and believes it has found it in Speakanet. The news is reported by Computerworld and on Speakanet's website.
