Europe's largest game shop chain, Game, will open a store in Copenhagen's new shopping mall Fields which opens in March. Richard Lindström, Scandinavian manager of Game, says the company's objective is to open shops all over the country; the next one planned will be in Aarhus, Jutland. When Fields opens, Danes will have access to another game shop, US based EB Games, which is the world's largest game shop chain. Currently EB Games has 17 stores in Denmark.

Danes spend about DKK 1 billion (USD 170 million) annually on computer games and games for consoles, and the market is in strong growth. In 2002, EB Games had a turnover in Denmark of DKK 50 million (USD 8.5 million). The figures from 2003 are not yet ready for publication but are expected to be around twice as high as last year. The news is reported by the IT Newspaper online.
