New service company to link biotech science and corporate sector  

DTU has established biotech company Bioneer with the aim of making rapid links between scientific ideas and the corporate sector

The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) has established an independent subsidiary Bioneer, a research based service company in biomedicine, biomedical technology and biotech. Bioneer aims at becoming a key player in the Danish biotech sector by making rapid links between ideas from scientific research and the commercial sector.


Bioneer also provides companies access to essential technology and biological resources for product and process development. The company has been created out of the former Biotechnological Institute Sector for Applied Molecular Biology and employs 42 people. It is located in the Science Park of Hørsholm north of Copenhagen. The news is reported by the professional journal Ingeniøren (the Engineer) online.
