North Denmark aims for role as new mobile digital communication testing area

2004.04.13
North Denmark aims to be the new testing area for new wireless digital technology. The new Digital Identity project group has the objective to put the region on the World wide wireless map.
Mobile digital communication will enter naturally into our everyday lives at home, at work and in our spare time. When grocery shopping E-mails will pop up on our wireless phone, we will use the wireless phones for payments and will communicate with public authorities via the wireless phone.

“We offer Danish and international IT companies the chance to have their latest development results tested in our region. Instead of traditional lab-testing we offer large-scale testing involving several thousand test people that give a much more refined picture of how the technology works in practice – in a predefined regional community, among students in an educational establishment or in an entire municipality” Jens Uggerhoej says, head of the Digital Identity project.
