SAP chooses Denmark to launch ASP system rental

The German software company launches ASP system rental to small enterprises as an alternative to selling licences

The German software company SAP has chosen Denmark to launch ASP (Application Service Provider) system rental for small enterprises as an alternative to selling licences. SAP has entered a partnership with the relatively unknown company ASP Europa which will handle all the operations, back-up and safe data storage. ASP Europe is based in Jutland close to Aarhus.

Morten Thorndahl, head of SAP sales says many small enterprises do not have the time, knowledge or cash to keep their own finance system operating. To them an ASP solution would be ideal so that they can concentrate on growing their business instead of maintaining their IT systems. SAP and ASP Europa have gained their first customers for the ASP system which costs DKK 400 (USD 64) per month per user to rent. The news is reported by ComputerWorld online.
