Sonofon acquires CBB Mobil  

Mobile phone company Sonfon has acquired Danish discount company CBB Mobil

Mobile phone company Sonofon has acquired the Danish discount company CBB Mobil which uses Sonofon's mobile net. The price has not been disclosed by the parties, but the owners of CBB Mobil have previously stated that they were willing to sell for DKK 200 million (USD 32 million). CBB Mobil will continue as an independent company with its own name, but will get a new board of Directors with Sonofon director Allan Koch as chairman.


Sonofon is the second largest mobile phone operator in Denmark. It has more than 1 million customers and generates revenues of DKK 4 billion (USD 640 million) annually. Sonfon is owned by Norway's Telenor with headquarters in Oslo. In December 2003, Telenor acquired the remaining 46.5% shares in Sonofon from US company BellSouth for DKK 3 billion (USD 480 million). The news is reported by Computerworld online.
