Telecompany 3 employs more sales staff

The Danish division of 3 yesterday employed 21 more sales staff after increased demand for the company's 3G telephony

Telecompany 3's Danish division yesterday employed 21 more sales staff in response to increased demand for the company's 3G telephony. 3 was the first telecompany in Denmark to launch 3G telephony, ahead of TDC, Telia and Orange. 3G telephony gives high speed mobile access to news broadcasts, sports coverage, share prices, film clips, weather forecasts, video messages, MMS, SMS and a raft of entertainment services. 3G terminals can also be used for making conventional phone calls.

Since 3 launched its 3G telephony in October last year, it has carried out a solid marketing campaign on TV, in newspapers and on the internet. Due to increasing enquires from customers, 3 yesterday employed 21 more sales people, bringing the total number of staff up to 241 in Denmark.

3 is owned by industrial group Hutchison Whampoa (60%) and the Swedish Wallenberg family’s investment company Investor AB (40%). Danish 3 is a member of the international 3 group which is operating in eight countries in addition to Denmark.
