Denmark's largest provider of communication solutions TDC has sold its service company Dan Net to the Luxembourg based Mach Sàrl for DKK 1.2 billion (USD 204 million) as part of its strategy to focus on core business areas. Dan Net is a provider of inter-operator billing services for mobile and fixed telecom enterprises, electronic data interchange and E-business solutions. Mach Sàrl is also a provider of inter-operator billing services and is owned by Advent International and Providence Equity Partners.

Provided that the competition authorities in several countries approve the acquisition, Dan Net and Mach Sàrl will merge. For the time being the two companies will be run by two management teams who will coordinate the activities and start the unification process.

Dan Net was established in 1987 as a joint venture between IBM Denmark and the telephone company KTAS (which was later merged into TDC). In 2003, Dan Net generated record pre-tax earnings of DKK 109.3 million (USD 18.6 million). The news is reported by financial newspaper Børsen online.
