Software company Telmate has received DKK 16 mn (USD 2.7 mn) from UK based Intec Telecom Systems to further develop Telmate's products. The Danish company develops software which telecompanies can use to send international calls through the cheapest telephone network route, a business area also known as least cost routing.

Finn Korbo, managing director of Telmate says that the money will be used to expand the company so that its software solution can be further developed and integrated on the market. Telmate, which also has a distribution agreement with Intec, will re-locate its business to Intec’s existing office in Roskilde, Denmark, and more staff are expected to be employed in the coming months.

Telmate was founded in 2002 and last year generated revenues of DKK 7.3 mn (USD 1.2 mn) with a surplus of just under DKK 3 mn (USD 510,000). The Swedish-Finnish company TeliaSonera and the US based AT&T are among Telmate's customers. The news is reported by Computerworld.
