TetraStar launches new mobile network

The Danish mobile phone company TetraStar yesterday launched its new mobile network based on Tetra technology

South Jutland based mobile phone company TetraStar yesterday launched its new mobile network based on Tetra technology. In addition to normal telephone conversation, Tetra technology offers teleconferencing facilities. It also supports all the necessary preparedness services for police and rescue agencies.

 

Initially Tetrastar will cover some of Denmark's largest cities, corresponding to around 40% of the population. Most of Denmark is scheduled to be covered by the net by the end of 2004. TetraStar demonstrated its new system successfully at the Tetra World Congress in Copenhagen, November 2003. The news is reported by Computerworld online and on TetraStar's website.
