Texas Instrument's division in Aalborg, Northern Jutland, is expanding its business; new soundproof premises are under construction and more people will be employed. Texas Instrument in Aalborg specialises in platforms for mobile phones and develops and sells new software and hardware to manufacturers of mobile phones.

 

According to managing director Kim Breum-Christensen, the division's success is partly due to its focus on advanced mobile phones, which is currently a market in strong growth. In 2002, Texas Instruments in Aalborg generated a turnover of DKK 203 million (USD 34.5 million) and profits of DKK 68 millon (USD 11.5 million). Kim Breum-Christensen says this positive development continued in 2003 - last year's figures have not yet been published. The division in Aalborg currently employs 100 people.
