The eEurope 2005 Index ranks Denmark as No. 1  

Denmark has been ranked No.1 in the eEurope 2005 Index performed by INSEAD business school

The eEurope 2005 Index, which measures the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and internet usage in the 25 EU member states and 3 candidate countries, has ranked Denmark No.1. Sweden was in second place, followed by the Netherlands, UK, Finland and Germany. The top six countries were characterised as global leaders with outstanding performance in the ICT domain at an international level.


The e-Europe Index is the first study of the degree of alignment of the new EU member states and the candidate countries Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. The Index is a composite of 5 key indicators: internet indicators, modern online public services, dynamic e-business environment, secure information infrastructure and broadband. Denmark ranked particularly high on access to the internet, online public services and dynamic e-business environment.
