Jutland headquartered Bang & Olufsen and Samsung Electronics have entered a strategic alliance to develop a new mobile phone

Denmark's Bang & Olufsen (B&O), one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-end audio and video equipment and mobile phones manufacturer Samsung Electronics have entered a strategic alliance to develop a new mobile phone. The aim is to create a unique product which offers users a new mobile experience, B&O writes in a press release.

Torben Ballegaard Sørensen, managing director of B&O says the company is very pleased with the new collaboration: "Together we will create a phone which makes it easy and comfortable to communicate," he says. B&O and Samsung are also cooperating on developing high-acoustics in Samsung mobile phones by using B&O's ICEpower technology.

Jacob Pedersen, analyst at Sydbank comments on the news: "It is an interesting business area B&O has entered, and it is in line with the objectives regarding growth in revenues that B&O set for itself in the company's annual report." The new mobile phone is expected to be launched in Q4 this year in a number of European countries. The news was reported by financial newspaper Børsen and on the B&O website.
