The Bella Center in Copenhagen has gained success as a host of major IT conferences for companies including Microsoft, HP, SAP, Oracle, SAS Institute and Cisco. In November 2004, Microsoft held its IT Forum, the company's premier European conference for IT managers, systems and applications architects, specialists and administrators, for the third time in the Bella Center.
Arne Bang Mikkelsen, managing director of Bella Center, says the conference centre has been highly focused on IT companies since 2000, involving multimillion DKK investments in IT equipment in the exhibition halls. In total, 72 kilometers of cable have been installed, making it possible to link 600 PCs and 700 fibre net connections.
HP will hold its ENSA conference, Europe's largest conference for professional partners and customers with 5,000 delegates in Bella Center in June this year. Jan Kauffmann, storage business manager of HP in Northern Europe, says HP chose Copenhagen and Bella Center, due to the fact that the Nordic region leads the way in IT development. Copenhagen's central location for international delegates travelling by air, the closeness of Copenhagen Airport to the Bella Center and the capital's friendly atmosphere were other factors in HP's choice. The news is reported by national daily newspaper Berlingske Tidende.
