Dansk Overflade Teknik (DOT) has gained a contract with Siemens Power Generation to supply surface treatment for 150 wind turbine towers

Dansk Overflade Teknik (DOT) has gained a contract with Siemens Power Generation to supply surface treatment for 150 wind turbine towers. Siemens Power Generation, the former Danish wind turbine manufacturer Bonus Energy, recently gained one of the industry's biggest ever orders for wind turbines from FPL Energy, a subsidiary of the FPL Group, USA's largest manufacturer of wind energy. DOT has been contracted to supply surface treatment for half the wind turbine towers in this contract.

Lars Nyengaard, sales director of DOT comments: "The main reason why we have received such a large contract is because our production staff deliver work of high quality, and because we are able to comply with very tough terms of delivery". The contract will create work for at least 20 more staff over the next couple of years.

The order comprises painting and rust-proofing 150 towers, each of which are 80 meters high. The treatment will be carried out at DOT's factory in Fasterholt, Jutland, which specialises in surface treatment of towers for the wind turbine industry. DOT has four production plants in Denmark, and also owns two companies in Sweden. The news was reported by Ingeniøren (The Engineer).
