Danish biotech firms gearing up to seek IPO listing

Besides TopoTarget, which has an IPO on Copenhagen Stock Exchange this week, several other Danish biotech companies could soon be candidates for stock exchange listing

Besides TopoTarget, a Danish biopharmaceutical company which has an IPO on Copenhagen Stock Exchange (CSE) this week, several more Danish biotech companies could soon be ready for stock exchange listing. Florian Schönharting, director of Nordic Biotech, which has invested DKK 200 mn (USD 34 mn) in nine biotech companies, says that if investors receive TopoTarget positively, there are four to five qualified Danish biotech firms which could be potential candidates: Life Cycle Pharma, Curalogic, Symphogen, Gastrotech Pharma and Zealand Pharma.

Existing stock exchange listed Danish biotech shares have being doing well over the last 12 months: "The Danish biotech share market looks amazingly good at the moment. Danish biotech shares have fared a lot better than other European biotech shares", comments Florian Schönharting.

In its most recent annual report, US investment bank Burrill & Co. described the Medicon Valley area [Zealand, Denmark and Southern Sweden – Ed.] as the most interesting biotech cluster in Europe. The news is reported by national daily newspaper Berlingske Tidende.
