Danish entrepreneurs to launch a global B2B search engine

Danish entrepreneurs are launching a global B2B search engine Masterseek.com in a beta version on 30 September with more than 6 million companies initially indexed

Danish entrepreneurs are taking on Google and Yahoo in the B2B search area with a new global search engine Masterseek.com, which will be launched in a beta version on 30 September. Danish and overseas computer programmers have spent almost seven years developing the new business information service.

From the outset, Masterseek will contain information about more than 6 million companies worldwide. The objective is that by the end of 2006, around 50 million companies will be indexed, corresponding to 90% of all relevant company websites.

Rasmus Refer of Masterseek says that the unique feature of the new search engine is the special crawlers which automatically filter out private websites, and at the same time index relevant company sites. Company information is indexed in more than 50,000 business categories in 21 languages, and there will also be more than 18,000 daily business news stories from Reuters. The news was reported by national daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten.
