Watagame, a Danish games developer based in Copenhagen, has gained a DKK 3.4 mn (USD 0,54 mn) investment from investors including Seed Capital Denmark and the Danish Fund for Industrial Growth. Watagame specialises in multiplayer games for mobile phones. The new capital will be used to increase development of new product lines and to expand global operations.

Jakob Steen Jensen, investment manager of Seed Capital Denmark comments: "Watagame is in the process of scaling business exceptionally well as they have grown to become a world-leading player in the ermerging market for community-based games for mobile handsets".

Watagame is planning to take on new staff in the near future, and is also close to launching a new mobile games targeted at girls. Watagame is most known for its games series Era of Eidolon, which has received the prestigious Ice Cold Award from Mobilegamefaqs. The news was reported by Computerworld and on Watagame's website.
