Gatetrade, a Danish company which develops and delivers B2B e-commerce solutions for the private and public sector in Denmark, is entering the Norwegian market via a collaboration with ARC AS, an Oslo based IT company. Gatetrade has also recently established its business in Sweden through a collaboration with STAKO AB in Stockholm.
Claus Johansen, managing director of Gatetrade says the company is progressing rapidly. In the first seven months of this year, Gatetrade's sales of e-commerce solutions totalled DKK 1.6 bn (USD 272 mn), compared to DKK 232 mn (USD 39.4 mn) for the whole of 2004. "We are now expanding into the Nordic region because our customers have a need to integrate Nordic suppliers and local subsidiaries", Claus Johansen comments.
Anders Rudlang, managing director of ARC AS says about the cooperation agreement: "We are looking forward to the collaboration with Gatetrade. The technology has been thoroughly tested, the software is easy to install, and the solution will help make the Norwegian corporate and public sector more efficient". The news was reported by professional journal Ingeniøren (The Engineer).
Gatetrade manages the largest B2B online market place in Denmark, called gatetrade.net , which has more than 2 million commodity lines and users from over 650 companies. Gatetrade was established in 2000 by Danske Bank, Mærsk Data, TDC and Post Danmark, and was taken over by Consolidated Holding A/S in summer 2004.
