Danish biotech company Exiqon has entered a distribution agreement with Roche Diagnostics which will sell Exiqon's main product, ProbeLibrary, worldwide. The agreement is estimated to be worth several million DKK, and in the long term considerably more since ProbeLibrary is targeted to a DKK 6 bn (USD 1 bn) world market which is growing by 25-30% annually.

ProbeLibrary which was invented and has been developed by Exiqon, consists of 90 test probes which are used to measure the activity of selected genes. By means of free web-based software, users can select, order and receive specific probes within 24 hours so that they can start their testing in very short time. With only 90 test probes, a total of 2.5 million different gene analyses can be carried out.

Exiqon was founded in 1996 and is based in Vedbæk north of Copenhagen. The company provides solutions for life scientists worldwide through the application of two core technologies Locked Nucleic Acid (LNA) and Anthraquinone Photochemistry (AQ-Link). Exiqon's fundamental business strategy is to allow third parties access to exploit its innovative R&D projects and proprietary technologies through licensing, partnering, and OEM agreements.
