Fledgling Danish IT company wins multimillion order

Copenhagen based Northmann has won a multimillion order from the Swedish furniture giant Ikea

Fledgling Danish IT company Northmann has won a DKK multimillion order from the Swedish furniture giant Ikea. Northmann has developed an advanced image database which will form the basis of Ikea's furniture catalogue, the world's largest publication. It is printed in 46 different versions, in 23 languages in 32 countries, and in as many as 130 million copies.

The order has obviously pleased Northmann: "For a small company like ours, large orders are very important. We are naturally very proud to have gained the delivery to Ikea, and have faith in an expanded collaboration with the Kodak group on the US market [Northmann is currently carrying out test sales on the UK market in collaboration with Kodak – Ed]", says William Schulin-Zeuthen, main shareholder and MD of Northmann.

Northmann was founded in 2002 and is based in central Copenhagen. The IT company develops software to organise, handle and distribute digital images, graphics, logos and video clips for marketing and information departments. Customers include LEGO Systems, Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolag SCA and Triple Arc. The news is reported by national daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten.
