Germany's Magirus acquires Danish IT storage distributor

German-owned IT distributor Magirus has acquired the Danish IT storage distributor Exello and its Swedish subsidiary for an undisclosed sum

German-owned IT distributor Magirus has acquired the Danish IT storage distributor Exello and its Swedish subsidiary for an undisclosed sum. Exello will become an independent division of Magirus as of 1 April 2005. Ole Eklund, managing director of Magirus Nordic says the excellent knowledge of the Excello team complements the existing service and storage products of Magirus perfectly, and will enable the company to offer a wider range of customer services.

 

Jan Andersen, director of Excello says the acquisition will give the firm greater visibility, and ability to gain more collaboration partners among suppliers. The two companies will also be able to enter new markets in Europe. The news is reported by Computerworld and on Exello's website.

 

The Magirus Group has more than 450 people employed in Europe and the Middle East. It generates annual sales of approx. DKK 4.1 bn (USD 729 mn). Partners include HP, Microsoft, IBM, Red Hat and StorageTek.
