Nyherji hf, one of Iceland's largest IT suppliers has acquired Danish IT company AppliCon for an undisclosed sum

Nyherji hf, one of Iceland's largest IT suppliers has acquired the successful Danish IT company AppliCon for an undisclosed sum. AppliCon is a leading SAP partner in Denmark. Following the acquisition, the merged company will have a total of about 100 specialised SAP consultants, making it one of the Nordic region's leading SAP enterprises.

The takeover of AppliCon is in line with Nyherji hf's strategy to expand its software services and IT in northern Europe. Thórdur Sverrisson, managing director of Nyherji hf comments on the acquisition: "We think AppliCon is the best company to spread our own developed SAP All-In-One solutions to Danish customers, and that AppliCon has the best access to the other Nordic markets where SAP has a strong position".

AppliCon was founded in 1998 and is based in Copenhagen. The firm has been a SAP Service Partner since 2001, and a SAP Business Partner since 2004. AppliCon expects to generate revenues of around DKK 150 mn (USD 24 mn) in 2005. The news was reported by Computerworld and on AppliCon's website.
