Innovision, a Danish company specialising in the development of medical instruments, expects to gain approval in the US in the near future of its cardiac test equipment. Peter Clemensen, director of Innovision says: "The equipment is costly at around two million kroner, but it can make non-invasive cardiac, pulmonary and blood circulation tests."

The new equipment works by patients blowing into a container to which is added a harmless substance, and by using advanced techniques for gas analysis, the cardiac condition is measured non-invasively. Innovision plans initially to market the equipment to cardiac units in university hospitals.

Innovision is based in Odense, Funen. The firm has developed medical equipment for NASA to test the health of astronauts non-invasively. The space business activities are being handled by the subsidiary Damec Research. The news was reported by Erhvervsbladet.
