Microsoft selects Danish software fledging as Partner of the Year

Denmark's WPA Mobile has been chosen as Partner of the Year in the category Mobility Solutions-Innovation by Microsoft, and is now looking for investors to launch its product in the US

Denmark's software fledgling WPA Mobile has been chosen as Partner of the Year in the category Mobility Solutions-Innovation at Microsoft's annual worldwide partner conference. A panel of 300 people selected WPA Mobile from among seven nominees in Minneapolis last month. The Danish firm has so far only sold its mobile solution in Denmark, but following the seal of approval from Microsoft, MPA Mobile is looking for investors who can help the company launch its product on the US market.

WPA Mobile has developed a mobile standard solution for service companies which for instance use technicians and fitters. The product runs on a PDA and acts as an electronic planning tool, where all relevant information for carrying out a job can be accessed, hours and goods used can be registered, and invoicing can be processed. The solution is based on Microsoft's .NET Technology and is a standard system which can be integrated with most finance systems.

Earlier this year, Microsoft named WPA Mobile as one of the world's most innovative software developers in its 2005 publication Innovation Starts Here. It was the first time a Danish company was featured. Among the advantages of using WPA Mobile that Microsoft highlighted were that paperwork and administration costs can be reduced by up to 50%, technicians can invoice up to 20% more hours, and ROI is achieved within 12 months. The news was reported by ComputerWorld and on WPA Mobile's website.
