Novo Nordisk's operating profits up 9% in 2004

Healthcare company Novo Nordisk has published its annual report for 2004, which shows a 9% increase in operating profits to DKK 6.9 bn

Healthcare company Novo Nordisk has published its annual report for 2004, which shows a 9% increase in operating profits to DKK 6.9 bn (USD 1.2 bn). Net profit increased by 4% to DKK 5 bn (USD 0.9 bn), while sales measured in local currencies were up by 15%. In total, sales amounted to DKK 29 bn (USD 5.2 bn).

 

Lars Rebien Sørensen, President and CEO of Novo Nordisk says the company is proud of the results for 2004: "The increasing demand for our portfolio of insulin analogues and NovoSeven, together with a strong performance in North America, makes us confident that we will be able to deliver solid growth also in 2005", he adds. Novo Nordisk expects a growth in operating profit of around 5% in 2005. The news is reported on Novo Nordisk' website.
