Danish healthcare company Novo Nordisk's NovoSeven facility has received the '2005 Facility of the Year Award' at Interphex, the world's largest and most comprehensive pharmaceutical conference in New York. According to the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, one of the sponsors of the award, the winning facility was chosen from 28 outstanding pharmaceutical facilities across five continents.

The 14,000 m2 NovoSeven factory in Hillerød, north of Copenhagen, was designed and constructed as a fast-track project by NNE, a life science engineering company based in Copenhagen. By breaking down the building process into modules, NNE was able to complete the production facility in just 18 months.

Henrik Risborg, Vice President of Novo Nordisk, was in New York to receive the prize and commented: "We built the NovoSeven facility to meet an urgent need for a life saving drug, and so we wanted it built faster than seen previously for a facility of this magnitude and complexity". The news is reported by professional journal Ingeniøren (the Engineer) and on NNE's website.
