PhaseOneTrials, a Copenhagen based contract research clinic, has completed a phase IIA trial for pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline. It is the first phase II trial the Danish company has conducted. In July, the firm carried out its first phase I trial for the Danish-American biotech company Osteologix.

Michael Viscovich, manager of clinical pharmacology and business development at PhaseOneTrials comments: "These are two very important milestones the firm has reached, and we are very proud that the trials have been processed in agreement with the protocol and the planned time schedule".

PhaseOneTrials, based at Hvidovre University Hospital in Greater Copenhagen, is the first independent Danish contract research clinic. PhaseOneTrials conducts phase I and II clinical trials for companies in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. The firm has a 12 bed intensive care unit with easy access to the clinical and paraclinical services at Hvidovre University Hospital. The news was reported on the BiotechDenmark website.
