Copenhagen based fledgling Racell has developed equipment which can produce the world's largest solar cell modules, writes Erhvervsbladet which reports the news. It can make modules of 12 m2, which is expected to make the product more attractive to architects and thus increase demand. One module can produce enough electrical power to cover the annual consumption of a typical family home.

Yakov Safir, managing director of Racell, has spent three years on the project, in which the Danish Energy Agency has invested DKK 1.2 mn (USD 192,000). Yakov Safir says that Racell can also produce modules of 24 m2.

Racell has received orders for large modules from UK and Germany. Current production is carried out at the premises of another Danish company, but in the next 12 months, Racell expects the number of orders to increase sufficiently to start its own factory production in Jutland.
