North Jutland based WirTek, an embedded software and mobile solutions company, increased its profits before tax by more than tenfold in 2004 to DKK 2.6 mn (USD 442,000). WirTek changed its strategy in 2003, and the fiscal year 2003/2004 was planned to be a consolidation year, but according to Adnan Ôzari, sales and marketing manager at WirTek, the firm has been so successful that it continues to advance rapidly and run above its budget. As a result, WirTek expects to employ more people in 2005.

WirTek's expertise is to develop embedded software solutions for mobile phones in particular; its customers include Nokia and Texas Instruments. It is also a sub-supplier to a number of Danish companies. WirTek is headquartered in north Jutland's Science Park in Aalborg, and has premises in Birkerød north of Copenhagen. The news is reported by Computerworld and on Wirtek's website.
