The Swedish group Procurator has acquired Hospidana, a Danish manufacturer of elastic and tubular bandages, for an undisclosed sum. Hospidana is a sole manufacturer in its business area in Scandinavia, and the company sells its products through agents to GPs, the homecare sector and nursing homes.

Jørgen Pedersen, the director and founder of Hospidana says that he has been negotiating the deal for about a year: "I chose Procurator because they will further develop Hospidana, keep production on Lolland, and even create more jobs". Jørgen Pedersen will continue as director of Hospidana for two years following the acquisition.

Hospidana, founded in 1980, has focused its development and production on speciality products such as self-adhesive bandages and tubular bandages. From 1995 to 2005, the company more than doubled its revenues from DKK 9.9 mn (USD 1.6 mn) to DKK 22 mn (USD 3.5). The news is reported by Industriens Dagblad.
