Denmark's largest telecom provider TDC has announced that it will open its 3G network in Denmark on 3 October this year. So far '3' has been the only telecompany in Denmark to offer 3G mobile services. Business customers with mobile broadband PC cards will be the first to gain access to the network. By mid November, private customers will also be able to use the network.

TDC will launch the new service in Copenhagen, Århus, Odense and Aalborg, while the rollout of the network continues in 28 other Danish towns and cities next year. Mads Middelboe, managing director of TDC Mobile says however, that TDC is ready to increase the speed of the 3G network rollout provided that customers receive the new mobile services well. The news was reported by Computerworld and on the TDC website.

The TDC Group develops and operates communication solutions, and has activities in 12 European countries and Oman in the Middle East. With a staff of 22,000 people, the TDC Group is one of the largest communication operators in Scandinavia.
