Vestas gains order to supply 31 wind turbines to New Zealand

Danish wind turbines manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems has received an order for 31 V90-3.0 MW wind turbines for the Tararua III Wind Farm in New Zealand

Danish wind turbines manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems has received an order for 31 V90-3.0 MW wind turbines for the Tararua III Wind Farm in New Zealand. The order has been placed by Tararua Wind Power Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of TrustPower Limited. The order comprises delivery, installation and commissioning, remote control systems and a five year service and maintenance agreement. The wind power plant will be commissioned in the first half of 2007.

"Thorbjørn N Rasmussen, managing director of Vestas Asia Pacific says: "Vestas is very pleased to introduce the V90-3.0 MW platform on the strong New Zealand market and at the same time further develop our collaboration with TrustPower". Vestas has previously supplied 103 V47-660 kW turbines for the Tararua I and II projects in New Zealand. The news was reported by financial daily newspaper Børsen.

In 2004, the company generated revenues of DKK 19.1 bn (USD 3.3 bn).
