Adobe Systems Incorporated has acquired Pixmantec, a Danish company specialising in management and processing of digital images in RAW format, for an undisclosed sum

Adobe Systems Incorporated has acquired Pixmantec, a Danish company specialising in management and processing of digital images in RAW format, for an undisclosed sum. Adobe plans to integrate Pixmantec's RawShooter technologies into Adobe programmes aimed at users with a need to process RAW files.

John Loiacono, senior vice president of creative solutions of Adobe says: "Today all photographers can buy digital cameras of high quality, and so customers are taking to the RAW format because it gives them more control over the final result. By combining Pixmantec's expertise and technology in RAW file processing with our own competencies, we have shown that the quality of existing RAW files can be improved in line with development of our software technology."

Adobe is headquartered in San Jose, California. Adobe customers include enterprises, knowledge workers, creatives and designers, OEM partners, and developers worldwide. Pixmantec is based in Copenhagen and currently markets the RawShooter range of digital photography software products. The news was reported by financial daily newspaper Børsen.
