CSC Denmark has invested millions in an upgrading of its mainframes which makes the IT centre the most advanced in the global group. CSC has three global mainframe centres, one of which is located at CSC's Nordic headquarters in Valby, Copenhagen.

Jess Ibsen, Nordic Director of infrastructure of CSC says: "We have gained major financial and operational advantages by changing to the latest generation of software for mainframes and by replacing the local Danish software agreement with a new global agreement between CSC and IBM." The new technology will increase CSC's competitiveness to attract more tasks to the Danish centre.

"We will become the most modern centre, and we are already expecting that three UK customers will be moved over to us," says Jess Ibsen.

CSC Denmark employs 2,700 people and generates annual revenues of DKK 3.5 bn (USD 595 m). Customers include UK's Royal Mail, Renault, Deutsche Bank and SAS. The news was reported by national daily newspaper Berlingske Tidende.
