Agillic, a Danish firm developing software for managing mobile phone subscribers, has gained a DKK 38 m (USD 6.5 m) investment from Vækstfonden, a state supported Danish investment company and UK's Amadeus Capital Partners, a venture capital company specialising in high-tech investments in Europe. The two investors now own respectively 10% and 30% of Agillic.

Jørgen Smidt, head of investment of Vækstfonden says: "The company is already well on its way, and now together with Amadeus we have decided to help with further capital. At the same time Agillic will get new international management with a new managing director."

Agillic has so far primarily sold its solutions to mobile operators in Denmark and its neighbouring markets, but the plan is now to launch the products throughout Europe. The new international management will be placed in the UK. "The company will use the UK as a platform to expand its business in Europe and in the longer term to the rest of the world. The US is also a market where Agilic aims to be present in the future," Jørgen Smidt states. Development and maintenance of the firm's software solutions will continue to be placed in Denmark.

Agillic was founded in 1999 and is based in Copenhagen. The company develops self-care and customer life cycle management solutions which are supplied to network operators. Customers include "3" in Denmark and Sweden, TeliaSonera and CBB. The news was reported by Computerworld.
