Danish software company Danware plans to expand its business activities via establishment of subsidiaries in the UK and Germany

Danish software company Danware, which specialises in developing remote control software for PCs, plans to expand its business activities via establishment of subsidiaries in the UK and Germany. Current collaboration partners in the two countries, which so far have been handling Danware's sales and distribution, will continue as main dealers.

Peter Grøndahl, managing director of Danware, declines to disclose sales expectations following establishment of the subsidiaries, but he anticipates a "significant increase and improvement" on current sales. The new subsidiaries are scheduled to be fully operational by October this year. In March, Danware set up a subsidiary in the US to handle distribution on the American market.

Danware is headquartered in Birkerød close to Copenhagen. The company's products, including NetOp Remote Control and NetOp School, are sold in 70 countries. In 2005, Danware generated revenues of DKK 91.3 m (USD 14.6 m) with pretax profits of DKK 21.2 m (USD 3.4 m). The news was reported by financial daily newspaper Børsen and Computerworld.
