Europe's first batch produced hydrogen fuel cell truck, developed and produced by Denmark's H2 Logic and A. Flensborg, has been launched in Denmark. The new invention was showcased in autumn 2005 at the HI-Industry Fair in Herning, Jutand, and has since been production matured. The H2 Truck is intended for internal transportation in the industrial sector, warehouses, hospitals, airports and for other applications with a need for non-polluting tractive power.

Customers for the first six H2 Trucks are Ringkøbing County, Århus County and Herning Municipality, which regard the investment in hydrogen trucks as an important first step towards a hydrogen society based on purer energy and energy technology.

The H2 Truck features a power unit which doubles the operational time compared to battery powered trucks. Hydrogen refilling time is less than 2 minutes compared to the 12 hours recharging time for battery powered trucks. The only emission from the hydrogen fuel cell is pure water.

International research shows that small hydrogen powered vehicles will be one of the first markets where hydrogen will feed through, replacing gas and electricity powered batteries. H2 Logic and A. Flensborg have shown that Danish companies can bring some of the first products to market and thus establish a bridgehead which can create many future knowledge based jobs. The news was reported by Erhvervsbladet and on H2 Logic's website.
