India's Four Soft Ltd, a global leader in software solutions for the transport, logistics and supply chain industries, has acquired Danish software company Transaxiom for approx. USD 10 m in a cash-and-stock deal, which will pave Four Soft's way into the Scandinavian market. Transaxiom is based close to Århus in Jutland and supplies transport and logistics systems to clients in 79 countries.
 
Kal Gangavarapu, COO of Four Soft says: "The acquisition of Transaxiom is part of our strategy of increased market consolidation and will give Four Soft strategic new sales opportunities". The integration of the two companies will commence 1 January 2007, with Transaxiom changing its name to Four Soft Nordic.
 
Frank Holmstrup, managing director of Transaxiom comments: "The management will stay in the company, and we are all convinced that the sale to Four Soft will give us the necessary muscle when we compete with large software companies, which in recent years have entered the logistics and transport markets". The news was reported by Computerworld.
