Avanade, a JV between Microsoft and Accenture, has established a Danish subsidiary based in Ørestad, Copenhagen's new high tech urban enterprise zone

Avanade, a JV between Microsoft and Accenture, has established a Danish subsidiary based in Ørestad, Copenhagen's new high tech urban enterprise zone. Accenture owns approx. 78% of the new firm, while the rest is owned by Microsoft. Avanade is a leading global technology integrator in the Microsoft enterprise platform.

Lars-Bo Klausen, managing director of Avanade Denmark says the objective of the new firm is to develop the market and offer customers in all sectors a total solution based on Microsoft's products. The first customers include ministries and companies in the financial sector.

A number of Danish Microsoft partner companies have however expressed concern over the effect of Avanade's establishment on their businesses.

Jørgen Bardenfleth, managing director of Microsoft Denmark comments: "We are not changing our partner strategy, and there is no need to worry about whether we would give Avanade advantages which others do not get." Jørgen Bardenfleth says he has talked to a number of major Microsoft partners who have expressed concern, and that has resolved the issue. The news was reported by ComOn and Computerworld.
