In the opinion of Chris Dedicoat, Cisco's senior vice president for European markets, the Nordic lands are the best at adopting new technology. His comments were voiced at Cisco's C-Scape Global Forum 2006 in San Jose, California, attended by 30 industry leaders including technology executives from MySpace, SAP, EMC, Disney, NBC Universal and IBM.
Dedicoat comments: "Few understand new technology better than in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. They excel at adopting business models which make the most of new technology, and are simply ahead of the field."
The aim of Cisco's get-together is to generate discussion, debate and dialogue on the industry's prevailing issues and trends. At the San Jose event, discussion centred on key market transitions in digital video, media and entertainment.
Cisco sets focus on placing its development activities in countries which can "monetize" creative ideas as soon as possible, by blending innovative technological skills with the productive will to turn ideas into cash. To Chris Dedicoat, Denmark is firmly in this category. The news was reported by Computerworld.
