Denmark's Novozymes has launched a new washing liquid enzyme, Liquanase, which can remove difficult stains at a temperature of 30ºC. Liquanase is initially being launched on the European and Asian markets. Kirsten Væver Jokumsen, launch manager of Novozymes comments:

"Blood stains are some of the hardest to remove. If blood is not removed immediately and gets a chance to dry, a shirt will often be ruined. With Liquanase we have developed a product which deals both with dried-in blood and other difficult stains, and cleans the garment thoroughly. And this is done at only 30ºC so consumers save money and energy, thus minimising the environmental burden."

Novozymes is the biotech-based world leader in enzymes and microorganisms. Headquartered in Bagsværd near Copenhagen, the company employs 4,000 people, half of whom are employed in Denmark. Novozymes' 700 products are a key factor in the production of thousands of products used in everyday life. The company's B shares are listed on Copenhagen Stock Exchange. The news was reported by BiotechDenmark and on Novozymes' website.
