The world's third biggest computer game publisher, THQ, has chosen to place its Nordic HQ in Copenhagen and is now up running. THQ Nordic will function as a sales and marketing channel for the entire Nordic region. Peter Jakobsen, PR manager of THQ Nordic comments: "Our task is to handle the contact with local distributors and marketing partners, and that is much easier when you are locally placed."

Contacts with Danish game producers are handled via THQ's UK division, but Jakobsen says: "We will help Danish game developers who contact us. We are always open to this." He also says it was no accident that Denmark was chosen as the location for the Nordic head office: "Logistically Denmark and especially Copenhagen is very well placed in relation to the Nordic market".

THQ's home base is in Los Angeles County, California. The company employs approximately 1,700 people worldwide and generates annual revenues of USD 807 m.
