US software company MicroStrategy, a global leader in business intelligence technology, has opened an office in Copenhagen to service its current Danish clients including A.P.Moller-Maersk, and attract new clients. Business intelligence is a relatively new discipline, where companies use IT to analyse their increasing amounts of data, to find new ways of improving earnings and to reduce costs. Analysis company IDC forecasts 6-8% growth on the Danish market for business intelligence in the coming years.

Christian Leander, director of MicroStrategy in Denmark says: "We have set up this office so we are able to give our Danish clients a better service. Our success is dependent on personal contact, so to us it is vital that our consultants are close to the clients." In the long term, MicroStrategy's aim is to significantly expand its client base in Denmark.

MicroStrategy was founded in 1989 and is NASDAQ listed. The US company has clients around the globe and generates revenues of USD 300 m. Clients include Google, AT&T, Ebay, United Postal Services, CIA and FBI. The news was reported by financial daily newspaper Børsen.
