Vestas Americas, a subsidiary of Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems, has gained an order for 18 V82-1.65 MW wind turbines with a total capacity of 29.7 MW from Madison Gas and Electric (MGE). The wind turbines will be delivered in H2 2007 for an expansion of an existing project, Top of Iowa, in the state's Worth County. Top of Iowa consists of 89 Vestas turbines each capable of delivering 900 kW. Iowa is one of the leading states in the US in terms of installed wind power capacity.
