Vestas shows strong progress in Germany

Latest figures from the German Wind Energy Institute BWE show that Vestas is making progress in Germany, says Sydbank

Latest figures from the German Wind Energy Institute BWE show that the Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems is making progress in Germany, according to Sydbank. In H2 2006 Vestas had a 41.1% share of the German market, indicating that the company had installed approx. 363 MW in that period, compared to 129 MW in the same period last year.

Sydbank analyst Jacob Petersen comments: "[Vestas] appears to be comfortably on the way to achieving our expectations of 500 MW installed in Germany this year. Several large orders from Germany for installation this year paints a positive picture for the company's position on the market." The news was reported by financial daily newspaper Børsen.

Vestas Wind Systems employs 10,600 people and has production facilities in Denmark, Germany, India, Italy, UK, Spain, Sweden, Norway and Australia. In 2005, Vestas Wind Systems generated revenues of DKK 26.7 bn (USD 4.3 bn), and sold wind turbines with a total power of 3,185 MW worldwide.
