CSC and Aalborg University have entered a collaboration to raise awareness of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and its importance to private and public sector companies. SOA2007 will comprise a series of events including a financial sector seminar, an SOA and Open Source meeting, and an SOA programme at Aalborg University during the summer.

Jesper Kryhlmand, managing director of CSC Denmark says: "SOA2007 focuses on what SOA means to administrative procedures in companies, public institutions and organisations. There is widespread agreement that increasing implementation of SOA can change the way customers and citizens receive service, so it is important to share experience and knowledge and discuss SOA both inside and outside IT departments."

Frede Blaabjerg, Dean at the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Medicine comments on the collaboration. "We are expanding our collaboration and exchange of knowledge with the corporate sector both regarding research and training. SOA2007 provides a good opportunity to combine our theoretical knowledge with CSC's practical experience in a highly topical subject."

The first event, SOA in the public sector – experience from Denmark and the US, will be held on 28 February in Copenhagen. Richard A. Reba, director of CSC's SOA projects in the US public sector will be one of the presenters. The news was reported on Aalborg University's website.
